Accessible voting supports

Accessibility

Elections Yukon strives to make voting accessible to all electors, regardless of their needs. We have services and support for electors with disabilities or underlying health conditions to support them to vote. Electors can also use their own assistive/adaptive devices at returning offices.

Polling place accessibility

Polling places are often in schools, community centers, libraries, and other public buildings. While locations are chosen with accessibility in mind, some may not have barrier-free access. If your assigned polling place is not accessible, it will be noted on your voter information card and online.

Electors who are not able to access their assigned polling place on polling day can vote:

  • at their assigned advanced polling location, which may have better accessibility
  • at any returning office
  • by mail
  • by making arrangements for an election official to meet you outside your assigned polling place.
